It wells
Swells
Soaring high
To heights I never even imagined possible
But I never imagined you possible either.
Soft pink tongues
Between fleshy folds
Oh yes, I think of you...
Often.
You think of me (I know)
Our bodies humming the same tune
I'm enraptured
Enthralled
By fantastic dreams:
Your hand on my belly
Pressing (gently) down
Cascading waves, ruffling the edges...my edges
Like velvet, my curvature beckons to your palm
Morning dew caught by downy curls
The eroticism of a pandemic-kiss
And soft, silken whispers of encouragement
Result in my undoing
As if rainwater, forming shallow puddles in the asphalt below
And yet, the current runs deep (as deep as my desire)
You woke me from a slumber
Now, I can no longer tolerate sleep
Awake, mine eyes are fixed on your silvery shadow
As the sad song of a jazz horn
Echoes into our future from the past
You wonder about others...
But it is you who stole my heart
In your absence, only ghosts keep my company
Though, you were oft an apparition, too
Appearing in my thoughts and dreams
Until the boatman would send me back...back to you
To live
To love
And, take things slow
Allowing fresh, green shoots to grow
Like the seven of coins
Our paths merge, join
My heart is a mischievous (impatient) thing
When it finds love, it starts to (rather loudly) sing
Harsh words camouflage deep care
A shield used in hopes of being spared
The pain of losing you to life's endless black hole
Nearly half a century without you has taken a mighty toll
It's true, my leg now has a limp
And yes, I've wiry hair with a permanent crimp
But you see me as your Empress anyway
And you, you are the King for which I pray(ed)
We are both afraid of the change this can (and will) bring
But together we'll heal any such sting
Without you, I truly feel lost
Ego and pride come at too great a cost
Undeniable...that is what you are
Funny how we both think the other a star
Real love sneaks in through the back door
Until you begin to feel it creep up your spine (to your very core).
