Life can seem a chore at times. Burdensome. Cruel. But when you know happiness is just a little further up the road, you can breathe again. Suddenly, the unshakable sense you're being slowly smothered by the world dissipates.
I'm so grateful for that....
Just when you think life can't, won't and will never change, a miracle happens. A shift in the Universe. Something subtle. Barely noticeable. Until, one day, you realize that small change isn't so small. Like a butterfly's wings creating a hurricane half-way around the world, the thing you barely noticed now has daily significance. You think about it all the time. Your heart is filled with wonder, and so is your mind. You ask yourself (and the Universe) in utter excitement:
"What's going to happen next???"
Instead of dread filling your heart with that question, slowly, slowly, love begins to take root. Fear, too, of course. It's scary to feel like you have something to lose. But it's also quite wonderful.
Let nothing stand between you and your joy. Nothing. I don't care what it is that gives you joy--just go for it. I don't even care if your joy causes someone else pain. And, neither should you.
You are only responsible for yourself, no one else. If you have lost any part of yourself, it is likely you live with takers. Users. Abusers. Thieves who steal from your emotional store. That's part of life. We need people, so we find people. Even the wrong people look right when we're lonely.
If you're unhappy, you don't have to stay that way. You can take a chance. Unchain your heart. Be happy. Find others who are happy. Then, go be happy together.
Yes, it really is that simple....
Whatever obstacles appear before you and your joy, do not allow yourself to be daunted. Remember what a miracle joy is. Miracles are reminders of our Destiny and should not be taken lightly. That's why miracles demand courage, not cowardice. Strength, not weakness. You have to have the fortitude to recognize a miracle and the stamina to maintain it.
Miracles aren't for the faint of heart.
You are strong for others--choose joy and you'll be strong for yourself. When you've spent your life making joy for others, it's okay to take some for you, too. If you don't, you begin to feel stuck and sad. Apathy sets in quickly thereafter. But apathy is a trap--one you'll never be free of if you lack the necessary conviction to go after whatever it is that brings you joy.
Life is a miracle. Amidst the social confusion-illusion, we often take our lives for granted. We bend to the wills (and expectations) of others, too polite to live our truth. But politeness is just an excuse to self-sabotage. The solution? Stop being so fucking polite!
Your own insecurity prompts your politeness. Rather, be confident. Knowing your value means you won't feel the need to apologize for needing joy. Those who claim otherwise are insipid fools jealous of your personal authority. Any individual who makes a point of trying to hurt you instead of helping you is someone you owe nothing to. Not. One. Thing.
Be fearlessly fierce, absolutely ruthless in your pursuit of your joy. No one will congratulate you for finding it or wanting it. No one will even encourage you to pursue it. You must decide for yourself that you are worth the effort. Joy is rare. When you think apps like Tinder make joy possible anytime, anywhere, remind yourself that Tinder is a corporation. All such companies depend on your continued belief that "better" joy is just around the next corner. The problem with that concept is that "real" joy is something you can only find once in a lifetime. So, don't screw it up when it finally happens, okay?
When you find Joy, nurture her. Joy is a living, breathing entity. You must remain mindful of Joy's fragility. Take care not to crush her or hurt her or cause her any injury. Appreciate Joy by embracing her with all of your heart. For, she will embrace you with all of hers. That's what Joy does after all.
