Know what else? The audio book for Twilight and Philosophy is in the making and will be ready for your eagerly awaiting ears no later than April (I think). Have you ever read a book outloud for hours and hours? Don't. Not fun. But the studio is. Just like in the movies! You've got this cool, hip young guy as the sound engineer; the recording studio is a small, sound-proof space where even the slightest movement of a page makes a kerpuffle in the recording; the grand piano sits waiting patiently for human hands. And, Metallica recorded in the same room! That's right 80's headbangers and metal-fans, Metallica! I feel cooler already. Okay, that's it--let's go trash a hotel room! :)
What else, what else...well, the Twilight book is translated into French, Italian, German, Polish, and Portuguese. I just received the Italian version: La filosofia di Twilight: I vampire e la ricera dell'immortalita; A cura di Rebecca Housel e J. Jeremy Wisnewski.... Pretty neat, isn't it? Oh, and the cover...to die for! It's hardcover, which differs from the American version but the handsome couple on the front is also in a much better pose--very sexy, very chic, very, well, Italian.
In other news, I really did help out an Emmy-winning writer and producer, and, Academy Award-nominated composer; apparently, my suggestions on the script and other materials were used. More good news will surely follow. Fingers crossed!
In March, my piece (with Gary Housel) comes out in Iron Man and Philosophy edited by Mark White! Learn more about the ladies in Iron Man's life in this chapter on engendering justice....
And, I did add to my teen fiction manuscript so we'll see what happens there; it's a great story, so has an equally great chance of finding the right home.
I'll keep you posted--you do the same. Apologies to my Facebook fans and Twitter tweats these last two weeks; I've been out of touch but will be returning to the hyper-real very soon.... ;)
Good night, you princes of publishing, you queens of creativity!
Rebecca
