Rare moments in a human life include falling in love (some people never even know what real love is--they think they do though...which is part of why the real deal is so rare), having a healthy child, finding joy, living with purpose, feeling connected to the Universe, and, of course, choosing gratitude over attitude. None of those things should be rare, but if life were the way it should be, Earth would be more like Heaven. And, it's not. Know how you can tell? In Heaven, Angel's have wings.
We all need wings sometimes, and the rare person we meet who gives us the confidence to not only fly, but to soar is nothing short of a miracle. The people who try to cut you down, however, are a dime a dozen.
There are more people who look for problems instead of solutions, even when the solution is staring them right in the face. Those folks have a lot to learn, and it won't be realized in a single human lifetime. The biggest lesson of all is that nothing matters more than people. And, of course, every life matters.
When you recognize that everything and everyone is connected, you will not be so keen to head out for a steak dinner. You will not want to sustain your life on the abuse and violent death of another creature. Regardless of whether or not that creature speaks English or has opposable thumbs. We are not Neanderthals. We do not need to kill to eat. Ethical eating leads to longer life spans, too. That's what some people might consider karma.
Karma doesn't mean revenge; it means reparation. Adjustments. Specifically for the soul. Yours, mine and ours. We are a great web of humanity. We are all connected. And, here's an example of how:
I met a very special soul on October 29th; he was my guest of honor in Salem. I grew up with his mother and her brother. But I had not seen either in 28 years. This young man, now a sophomore in high school, is the most amazing human being. The moment I saw him, I hugged him and we started chatting away as if we'd known each other forever; we didn't stop talking until I left six hours later. The next day, the new love-of-my-life texted with me for hours. He looks a lot like his uncle, who is someone I have loved since I was a baby. But unlike his uncle, this young man is brave and smart and respectful of women. I like him much better. In fact, I wonder if my 45-year love affair with his uncle was really about meeting this young man. Because of meeting him, I no longer wish to be connected to toxic people. It was as if a switch was flipped. The switch for unconditional self-love.
See, sometimes we forget who's watching us live our lives. When you live a life that repeats toxic familial patterns, you are simply working out the psychology of your childhood. You're alive, but you're not really living. Or, loving. And, when you tell the woman you've loved for 45 years, "All roads lead back to you," then, take it back months later because you're an emotional moron who can't live a single day sober, you've allowed yourself to become so damaged, you'll likely never live more than a moment or two of joy, and it will only ever be through others. That's why I love this young man. He and I both share a unique understanding about the fragility of life. The rareness that is each moment of every day. Though other humans may look at us as sick or crippled in some way, we are the ones flying. We know what joy is. We recognize goodness. We give light to even the darkest hearts. Anyone who devalues people like us--takes us for granted--is a fool.
Fools are around every corner. You don't have to look far, or go very long, before finding one. The rarer person is the one who sees beyond the surface. Who wants good things for everyone. The person who is not jealous or resentful. The soul who chooses love over hate, looks for solutions and not problems, forgives and forgets rather than hold on to bitterness and anger.
There is always a choice, you know. And, even if you choose to be a villain rather than a hero, you should understand that your justification and excuses are just that. Lies. But lies you tell yourself, not just to keep an artificial peace. You know it as well as everyone else. Pretending otherwise will never make you happy, whole, or fulfilled. Only when you stop defining yourself by what other people lack will you have started the journey toward awakening. And, even if awakening changes the way you see the world altogether, you want to live an #AwakeLife. There is nothing like it. Each moment is a miracle. You see light everywhere. You see connections everywhere. Fear is greatly minimized. You have authority over your own life. Your own soul. And slowly, slowly, one day at a time, your life will bloom and grow like the delicate petals of a flower, but one that blooms forever. Just got a "yes" knock to that....
Choose wisely. Choose better. Because, whether you're 15, 33, 45, 70, or 105, the choice is truly yours. If you were to die tomorrow, who would you want holding your hand. Who would you want to spend one last night with. Who would you regret not expressing your true feelings for. You may yet live other lifetimes, but never this one in particular again. And, if you are reading this essay right now, this message is 100% a message for you.

#AwakeLife #TwinFlames #1111: Tonight, I was lucky enough to see #Twin meteors--the Taurids--named such because the radiant point comes from #Taurus. Why do I have the feeling that during the month of Taurus, I might meet one???
