My chapter on the popular television show that airs on PBS in the States, Downton Abbey, appears in the newly published, Downton Abbey & Philosophy, edited by my Wiley colleague and friend, Mark White, as well as Series Editor, friend and mentor, William Irwin. If you love the ladies of Downton Abbey, then you MUST buy a copy for your kindle, nook or iPad and read my chapter (Chapter 3, "Put That In Your Pipe & Smoke It"...oh yes I did!):

Next month, you can read an article on a new app developed for your favorite dystopian novel/film, The Hunger Games, in Boston-based Shalom Magazine. And there will be a few publication surprises, too--I have about five in the works so far.
What I really wanted to say today was THANK YOU to all 120,000+ unique visitors who take the time and make the effort to find me. Over 7,000 of you this month alone!!! Your collective kindness is humbling. I am so GRATEFUL to each and every one of you each and every day. I've met some of you this spring at the Boston, Toronto and Philadelphia Comic Cons...which totally ROCKED! All three were awesome but admittedly, I had the most fun at Philly because of the incomparable James Marsters, super-awesome Sam Witwer (funny, good looking, energetic...and a beard!?!? What's not to love???), and genuine sweetheart, Sam Trammell...what can I say? It takes more than one man to make me happy.
So where can you see me next??? I rejoin the 2012 Wizard World Comic Con tour in fall as their resident vamp-expert, hitting Ohio in late September, Austin in late October, and last but never least, New Orleans November 30-December 2.
Want to see me where YOU live but don't see it on the 2012 schedule? Use the CONTACT page or follow me on Facebook and Twitter. Give me a shout-out! My words mean nothing without ALL of you; so let me know where you are, and we'll make it happen! And by the way, I speak more than five languages so can go almost anywhere in the world--have verbal passport, will travel!!!
I also wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of those leaving positive comments on not just individual blog articles on this website, but on my Facebook wall and in mentions on Twitter, as well as Google+. Your encouragement means the world!
Further details to come from your #PopCultureProfessor including summer recipes, movie reviews, philosophical philanderings, and so much more, like continued weekly reviews of the NEW HOT SEASON of TRUE BLOOD. And don't forget to check out the 2011 edition of True Blood & Philosophy: We Wanna THINK Bad Things with You! Sam Trammell's a fan--I gave him a signed copy while we were in Philly together. Such a nice man!
And if you LOVE vampires, you might want to find the newest book series, EVIL IN AMERICAN POP CULTURE, co-edited by Jody Pennington (Praeger), scheduled for 2013 release; I authored a chapter in the book on vamps in pop culture ("Suckers for Blood") that I KNOW you will absolutely LOVE at first BITE with section titles like BLOOD NYMPHS and so much more blood-sucking goodness! v--v
Until next time, dearest readers....
