Ayurveda: A Holistic Approach to Wellness
Heal from the inside out.
Ayurveda is the science of living. Dr. Housel, a vegetarian for nearly 30 years, reversed a 2-year prognosis, beating unsurvivable cancer. That was 20 years ago. Today, she is one of the longest living survivors of high-grade brain cancer on record in the Western World. Using food as medicine, meditation, breathing, movement, affirmations, and mantras, Dr. Housel has extended her life well beyond expectations. It takes time and patience, but learning the ways of Ayurveda--the world's most ancient medical practice--is well worth it.
Ayurveda is a more than 5,000 years old yet current medical studies continue to prove that compounds in certain foods, like eugenol in basil, for example, can help improve health and wellness.
When you sign up for your session, you can expect a 50-minute consultation with Dr. Housel through Zoom on what Ayurveda is and how to best implement into your life as well as a brief guided meditation at the end to get you started. This will be followed by a personalized "dinacharya" or daily routine with meal suggestions and a 1-hour phone coaching session the following week. Two sessions a month for two months is recommended with a follow up every month thereafter to ensure you are getting the most impact from the practice. Balancing mind, body and spirit is a holistic approach that honours our lives as well as the lives of all those who came before us. If you want to increase self-love and mindfulness while doing good things for your body (and soul), Ayurveda is for you.
