Mediation with Dr. Housel creates the opportunity for individuals to begin their new journeys in life from a healthy, stable foundation, increasing their potential for long-term wellness, employability and financial security.
Successful mediation typically requires between 10-15 hours and is a fraction of the cost of using attorneys to negotiate the terms of an agreement (a divorce averages between $5,000-$10,000 per individual in most States). Dr. Housel is also sensitive to stressors surrounding the current pandemic and can aid couples in coming to terms with the end of a partnership through mutual respect, kindness, empathy, and compassion, while also expediting the mediation process, saving significant time, money and emotional energy. Individuals can then start their new lives with total confidence.
Dr. Housel pursued study with the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine on the Neurobiology of Trauma and can help couples going through separation and divorce to work from a place of dignity, respect, empathy, and compassion--the results of which offers swift collaborative resolutions and a promising fresh start.
A member of the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation (NYSCDM), Dr. Rebecca Housel has a long history of helping people come to terms with trauma, anger, anxiety, grief, and stress and is sensitive to psychosocial issues, vulnerable populations, and family/cultural dynamics. Dr. Housel has also completed postgraduate continuing education at Harvard Medical School on relevant COVID-19 topics, including stress, ethics during an epidemic, psychosocial considerations, mental health, and more, and will be a sensitive unbiased advocate for both parties so an agreement can be effectively executed without wasting time or money.
Each 2-hour telesession takes place on Zoom; contract for services signed by both parties is required for a minimum of 5-7 sessions (8-10 are recommended). A *$1,200 retainer must be received prior to the first session (pricing listed is designed for two separate parties each purchasing a mediation package to total the $1,200 retainer; if one person is paying the total retainer, please purchase two packages--thank you) . There are no refunds for client cancellations--both clients must be present to have a session. Client cancellations 24 hours or more in advance may be rescheduled at the discretion of Dr. Housel. Dr. Housel reserves the right of refusal.
